Whenever I would heard about stay-at-home moms who also worked at home too, I always laughed to myself in disbelief.

I never even sorta understood how that was possible. I mean, working during naptime and at night and caring for kids at all other hours… When do you EVER have any time to sleep or eat or clean or rest or relax…let alone WORK?!

Absurd.

It was unfathomable to me.

But as per usual, God got jokes. God always… got jokes.

Little did I know what God had in store for all working parents of small children in 2020. That’s where I currently find myself.

It is July 27, 2020 and as you two are peacefully sleeping—actually, about to wake up—I’ve just finished recording an interview for my YouTube channel, editing an article for a client, and preparing my second cup of coffee, just in time for my afternoon childcare shift.

It’s hard for me to grasp that I’m a business owner and mom of an almost 4-year-old and an almost 1-year-old, who is somehow managing to not only work but run said business while caring for said small children all day, errday (with the help of your Daddy, of course).

How is this possible?

I would be lying if I said I’m having the time of my life. Pandemic parenting is hard. It is stressful. It is… indescribable.

But this week, as I shift the focus of this Multipassionate Motherhood series to life as a business owning mom during a pandemic, I am intentionally expressing  gratitude.

So while you may hear the occasional complaint (let’s be real: more than occasional), more often than not, I’ll be focusing on pinpointing the things I’m currently experiencing during this pandemic that I’m incredibly grateful for.

Because if the state of the world right now has taught me anything, it’s that it could always be worse.
